精選模試2で打ちのめされたその後
toeic900overを見据えてリスニング特化で勉強していくことにした
なぜリスニングに特化するのか
それは，リスニングのほうが簡単だからだ
Toeicのスコア分布によるとリスニング470以上は上位4.2%
それに対してリーディング470以上は上位0.9%なのである

3日間ぶっ通しでPart2に挑む

新形式になってから難化したPart2をToeicアプリabceedで解き着まくる！
abceedでは，正答率に従って本番試験の予想正答率が数値化されるのである
part2は全25問
なので最低でもミスは2問までに収めたい
そう思って予想正答率が92%に達成するまでのたうち回った
それも3日も

本年度に入ってからtoeicにリチャレンジすることにした
それに際して，現状位置を確認するために買ったのが公式問題集5
精選模試2の難しさには打ちのめされた
実力を測るには公式問題集が一番信用できる
ちょっと高いのがタマに傷だが…

にしても，黄土色の表紙は業界でも珍しい

結果は…
リスニング 90/100
リーディング 70/100

リスニングは間違えた問題に4を引いて5をかけた数字
リーディングは間違えた問題に2を引いて5をかけた数字

という計算式を採用している

合計820点！

何ということだろう！
2018年の秋に受けたときは880点と845点だったのに下がってる！！！

まさか300点台とは思わなかった

各part別の難易度

Part1 5/6 普通

一問だけ2択で悩んだ

Part2 23/25 難しい

自信がなかったが2問missだけで済んだ

Part3 37/39 やや易しい

今回は趣向を変えて質問文だけでなく4択の説明文も全部目を通すようにしてみた
大半の問題は質問を読み上げる前に問き終えることができた
精選模試2と比べると本家は相当に易しい

Part4 25/30 やや難しい

Toeicらしいシチュエーション展開から外れた問題が2問ほどあった
Part3より4のほうが得意なのでこの5問も間違ったのは意外だし，何より悔しい
合計90/100正解

過去の公式問題集でもリスニングは90～95問正解の間を行ったり来たりしている
Part1は確実に取りにいきたい
Part2は変化球も多いし新形式になってから一気に難易度が上がったPartなのでミスは2問に抑えたい所
今後大きな得点源として見込めそうなのはやはりPart3と4と見た
90問正解ということは465点
まだ30点分余地がある
リーディングを30点上げるよりリスニングを攻略するほうがよっぽど楽だ

Part5 20/30 やや難しい

9分で解けたので1分余った
手応えはあったのに何と10問も間違えてしまうとは…
他の人のTEST1の結果もネットで調べてみたが難しかった模様
手応えと実際のスコアとの誤差は何とかできないものか…

Part6 12/16 普通

可もなく不可もなくといったところ

Part7 38/54

精選模試2と比べて素直な問題が多くてスイスイ解いていった
時間も3分ほど残して解き終えた
それだけに16問も間違ったのはショックでならない
本文内容は理解していたのに間違ったのは，設問にひっかけられたのだろうか
Part7を8割の大台に乗せないことには900の壁は壊せない！

課金でToeic900を取りに行く

なんかもう，Toeicはこの辺にしてTOEFLに行きたいワケ
もう3/8の公式試験は予約した
2018の秋の時点で800後半が取れたんだったら，毎月受けたら10回中2回くらいは900を取れる
毎月受けて，課金でもって900を取りに行こうじゃないか
そして俺はピースボートの通訳ボランティアになるのだッ！
今回の結果を受けてそう思った
900overできる十分な実力がついてから試験に挑むより，低い勝率でも勝ちに行く

精選模試のシリーズ2が出たのでtoeicスコア900以上を目指すために購入
リーディングリスニングともに非常に骨太な問題が揃っている
あくまで本家の内容に忠実で奇を衒った問題はない
以下はAmazonのレビューからの引用

昔前に横行した難解な単語の乱立によるものではなく
完璧なまでにTOEICの公開テストに則した構成になっているからです
公開テストの難易度を100とした場合の本書の難易度は125
少年時代のクリリンと孫悟空ほどの差があり手強い
直前にこの問題集を一周して試験に臨んだところ、リスニング455点でした
問題集ではだいたい375点くらい？だったので、模試＋80点くらいでした。

難易度は，本家を100とすると本書は120と言ったところか
とは言っても，難易度を上げすぎたのではないだろうか

この手の英語勉強法は読まず嫌いしてきた
勉強法は百人百様/十人十色だと思っていたからだ
でも、もっと早く読んでおきたかった！！

立ちはだかる900点の壁に悩まされているひとは必読！
旧形式時代の著書だがそのエッセンスは今にも通じる

900点に壁を感じる人は非常に多い

toeicは800点まではtoeicのための教材をゴリゴリやればさほど問題なく突破するスコアなのだという
これは実体験に照らし合わせても同感だ
が、800点代後半からずっと横ばいになってなかなか進展しないのがtoeicという沼の特徴だろう

300点を900点に高めるより900点を950点に高めるほうが難しい

との本書の指摘があるがまさしくそのとおりで、上辺のスコアの高低に惑わされてはいけない
そのぐらいハイスコア取得者がさらなるスコアアップを図るのは、険しい
スコアが上がるにつれて、どんどんその坂は急勾配になっていく

TOEIC900点の壁の突破法

わかった気になっている問題を浮き彫りにする作業

ここまで来ると、わからないけど正解した問題を浮き彫りにして
真の理解を脳に染み込ませる必要がある
そのためには、新しい教材に手を出すのではなく、これまでにやった教材をもう一度解くことだ
模試を新たに10個分解くよりひとつの模試を10回分解いてほしい
これは例え話ではなくガチだ
確かに新しい教材をこなすほうがやりがいもあるし、勉強している感があるが
取り残しをそのままにしないのが900点への道だ

ディクテーションせよ

TOEICはリスニングのほうがスコアを取りやすい
リスニングを確かなものにするには、ディクテーションが大事だと本書には書いてある
英文を聞き取る→自分で書いてみる→きちんと理解した上で聴き直す
この行程を踏まえることで、不完全だった前置詞の聞き取りや
構文理解の曖昧さを浮き立たせることができるという

過剰学習による「勉強した感」をなくす

800点代ともなると、勉強は量ではなく質の段階に入るべきだと本書は指摘する
定期的な復習と、toeicに特化した単語を振り返ることで、理解領域を着実なものとしていくこと
その時大切なのは、繰り返すがこれまでに解いた問題集を再度解くことに他ならない

第235回TOEIC公開テスト 結果880→845点！人生は甘くない

1. 2018年11月18日に実施されたtoeicの試験結果が、ネット上に開示された

今回こそは900点を取れたという確信があった！
果たして努力は報われたのだろうか？

リスニングパートでは満点の項目がひとつあった
前回Lが465で今回はL445
toeicで900点を取るならば、リスニングで満点に近いスコアを取り
リーディングは405～付近で滑り込むというのが王道だ
リーディングに関しては400点前半をキープしているので
するべき課題は定まった

最近はtoeicではなく、toeflのほうでリスニングの勉強をしている
toeflのほうがアカデミックで知識欲をそそられる内容で面白い
900点が射程圏として狙える確かな実力がついたその日には、また望もう

自信もあった今回、特に緊張するのでもなく結果を開示した

900点の取り方ならわかってるんだ
それは、過去に解いた模試問題を何度も解くこと
新しい教材に挑戦するのは楽しいし、実力も測定できる
でも、解きっぱなしはダメだ
自分はろくに復習をしていなかった
前に間違えた問題をまた間違えた
それは言わばリンゴの皮みたいなもので
美味しくはないかもしれないが、そこに一番栄養がある
